Tip #18: Customized your car? Maybe with a fancy sound system, an after market fender, or other adjustments? You likely added value to your car, but your car insurance will likely just pay out the original value. Be sure to ask about adding in your customizations.
Tip #6: Bought a brand new car but worried about depreciation? We offer new car replacement coverage so it your car is totaled, your payout will be enough to get another brand new car, even if it is a few years old. So you may even get an upgrade!
Tip #9: We say, “Lend your car, lend your insurance.” If a friend borrows your car and is in an accident, yes that accident will go on their record, but because it is your car that was damaged and your insurance that may pay out for the accident, it will affect your claims record too.
Tip #17: Don’t want generic parts used to fix your car after an accident? You may have the option for OEM coverage (Original equipment manufacturer) to pay for parts directly from the actual manufacturer, which are often more expensive.
Tip #10: Hate paying steep daily rental car insurance while traveling? You current policy may already cover you. Our policies do! It’s a great way to save, instead of paying that extra $30+ a day.
Tip #11: Do you operate as your own business, like a realtor or contractor, and use your car for work purposes, such as going to and from appointments or client houses? This may be seen as business use in the event of an accident! Be sure you have business use coverage on your personal auto policy.
Tip #2: An auto policy does NOT cover your belongings in your car. It only covers the vehicle itself.
Tip #16: Not a doctor, firefighter, or member of the armed forces? No worries. Ask about an occupational discount! The list of options will surprise you and it never hurts to ask!
Tip #12: Yes, in many states your personal credit does impact your insurance price, so continue improving your credit and you should see a reduction in your pricing. Just ask for a re-rate!
Tip #15: Shopping for a new car? ALWAYS have your insurance agent quote what the cost will be before you purchase a new car. The cost to insure that new ride may surprise you depending on the make and model.
Tip #7: Many renters policies will pay for lodging elsewhere during a claim if your place is uninhabitable after an event such as a fire or water damage.
Tip #1: “Storage” coverage is a great option to save money if you are not driving a secondary vehicle.
Tip #14: Use your car delivering goods for Grubhub, Amazon flex, or another delivery service? Chances are you car insurance does not cover the drives you are making to and from delivery locations. Make sure to add this coverage!
Tip #4: Take pictures of your furniture and other belongings in your home and email them to yourself. This way, if any thing is stolen or burned in a fire you have easy proof of items to be replaced during a claim.
Tip #13: Rent out part of your home for Airbnb or another similar short term rental service? This is not covered on a typical home policy unless you add such coverage. If your renters do damage or steal and you have not added the coverage, your claim will likely be declined.
Tip #19: Worried about your rate skyrocketing after an accident? You may be able to earn or add accident forgiveness to protect against it. Spoiler! We offer both as well as ticket forgiveness.
Tip #5: Insurance companies do NOT automatically pay for you to have a rental car. Most often, you must ask for this coverage to be added to your policy.
Tip #8: Not all driving score apps are the same. Some companies will increase your rate if they don’t like your driving. Be sure you know the impacts of trying an app out. Spoiler! Our app only gives a discount as kudos for being aware of your driving.
Tip #3: Not using many perks from your AAA roadside service membership? You may save you $80+ a year by adding towing to your auto policy instead.
