Whether you like baking bread, painting, or crocheting blankets or have no idea what to do with all this extra time on your hands, being stuck at home is an especially good time to pick up a new hobby or rediscover an old favorite. Here are a few that we’ve personally tried at the Agoff Agency:
Bread baking– Get ready to bust out your dutch oven and call yourself Betty Crocker (assuming you can find flour & yeast amongst all of the panic shopping-induced shortages). This took me a few attempts to even get a decent loaf baked, but once I did, my husband couldn’t stop eating it! Here’s the recipe that we tried, then tried again about 3 more times to get it right:

Scrapbooking- I’ve been putting off printing & doing anything with my wedding pictures since the actual event about 2 years ago. With all of the free time at home and newly bought scrapbooks, it was time to get cutting & gluing. Scrapbooking is fun in a sense that you don’t have to follow a recipe or specific steps to be able to do it. You really don’t even need artistic ability (I do not have ANY); as long as you can cut and glue or tape, you can scrapbook. Here’s a fun blog post that I read through that gives tips & tricks if you’re a first-time scrap-booker:

Learning a new or different language- This has been so fun for me! In preschool, so long ago, I learned sign-language, but have since forgotten the language. All of the time that I’m not spending commuting or out-and-about has given me time to freshen up my sign language skills! I still can’t have a full conversation yet, but can sign the first 10-15 letters of the alphabet! Check out this fun video for beginners here:

Do a puzzle- I haven’t put together a puzzle since my elementary school days. Puzzles are nice because you can leave it and pick up right where you left off (provided you don’t have kiddos or animals that like to grab things). If you don’t have an old puzzle sitting in the game cabinet, here’s an online site that offers free online jigsaw puzzles:
Watch the movies or shows that you’ve been putting off- For me, that show has been Tiger King. Whatever genre or category to watch, you can make TV watching fun with movie nights at home, or if you have a projector & a backyard, a homemade drive-in movie theater (hello date night!). Whatever you choose to keep your mind and body busy during this trying time, don’t forget to have fun!
